I recently had a go trying to prevent misfires and sluggsih performance.
I replaced the plugs, wires and coil - this helped some. Then I filled up with good gas 93 octane and added an injector cleaner. This appears to have made a differnce and things have been better - at least for the last 300 miles. It may be worth a try.

A gapping tool. I've seen two types:

-The disc with gradations on it
-Object with things that stick out at varying gaps
