Default premature strut failure

Just replaced my rear struts and mounts which has served me well on my Chrysler '01 Neon, it has 166,000 kilometers (103,750 mi). I have heard from some that have had premature failure on neons, but I not sure if they were talking 1st or 2nd Gen.
The other question I have would be why the rear struts would be totally shot but the fronts are fine, even with a lot more weight and strain on them.
Cheers. Kayakman

At that milage they are worn on both ends pretty well. They are tuned for their end of the car. Under your assumption of being on the light end Neons should go like 300,000 miles cause a caddy can go nearly 100,000. They have lots of weight. They are designed and tuned for the application so either end can go.

on my 95 our struts really went till about 210,000 before the car would just jump from side to side while driving.

Was bad long before that and would have performed better with new struts. Not saying they were not doing anything at 200K but not like new that is for sure.
