Engine Code P0743
P0743 Torque Converter Clutch/Solenoid Trans An open or shorted condition detected in the torque
Relay Circuits converter clutch (part throttle unlock) solenoid control
circuit. Shift solenoid circuit C electrical fault-Aisin Trans
This is the code that came up on my odometer when I did the on-off-on-off-on. I had just bought this car 24 hours before the light came on. I took it to Auto Zone they said it was a torque Converter Electrical Problem which pretty much matches the description I got off the engine codes on this web site. So I take it to a transmission guy and he says that he can not find anything wrong with the car. He hooked it up to his machine and got the same code but says there is no relay on my tranmission. The Car is an 01 Neon. He says that other then the service light being on he can find nothing wrong with the car. Any ideas on what the problem could be?
Thanks,
Patrick

I have not really noticed anything of course I did only have the car for 24 hours before it started doing this. I have seen another post that mentioned a lockup selnoid that could be causing the problem. That post said that it would not really hurt the car just my pocket book do to the extra gas it is using. I just don't want to be like alright and take the car back then 3 months down the road have the tranny go all the way out or something.
Just got off of the phone with the tranny guy and he swears there is nothing wrong with the Torque converter or the selinoid. He says that the only thing he can find wrong os that the service engine soon light is on. Everything else checks out and is ok. He drove it around himself and all of the gears are there and it is shifting right. I am just freaked out don't want to end up 3 months down the road with major problems on my hands and no dealer to "blame". Well if anyone else thinks of anything drop me a reply. Thanks. Oh and as far as a bad code readout I don't think that is the problem because when I ran the codes it also displayed the code for the battery being unhooked within the last 50 starts, which I had done. So I am assumming that if it spits out one correct code the others would be correct as well, but I have ended up in some bad spots from assumming before.
