yeah, i am into building up my SOHC, the srt swap is no longer origanal, cool yes, but no longer origanal, i would rather spend alittle more money and beable to beat an srt, that would be more of an accoplishment to me, but that is just me,i enjoy seeing people look at my car like a am a punk kid, and kick there parents mustang all over the road, granted the srt engines you can get more power out of them in the long run but damn, by the time you do a stage three turbo upgrade you have about 30 grand into the car, i can think of alot better things to do with 30 grand than put it into an srt4, i would rather save my money up and and buy the charger srt8. lol

I agree, That is why I want to "eventually get a r/t magnum engine and do a complete build, turbo it, and swap it in to my current car so I can do some real damage on the streets" oops kinda spilled the beans but who cares. The way I look at it is this, my car came with a 2.0 and I think to be true to the car it need to retain that badge. Plus I honestly think a 2.4 is to big for a 4 cyl. I'm not 100% pos. but in my experience most lower liter per cyclinder engines have the capability of reving higher which is why I would rather go with a 2.0 than a 2.4. I've KNOW how "torquey" they are. So I think a complete built 2.0 motor would have a better power band and that would make me alot happier. But I could be alittle off so let me know if I'm alittle wrong. Plus like 5-6g's in parts wheels/tires/suspension etc....

Oh and that is just my plans for this car, so I need to find a wrecked r/t 03-04, then I want to do another build for a everday driver but I want a srt-4 looking/running neon, so that mean Have to find another car in great condition exterior and interior wise but with a blow motor and/or trans, THEN find a wrecked srt-4 with rear or preferably side impact. So I have a lot of time/effort/money/research/looking and patience to give before that happens. But in the end i'll end up with two bad *** cars one daily driver and one street/strip car. Not bad for about 40 thousand in total with Everything factored in including my car(now) cost. I'm hopping to get all this done in the next 5-8 years, but those are my ultimate plans(only 20-25 thousand dollar plans) and this thread just kinda got me thinking about it so I thought I'd let you guys know.

even though you understand the "reason" to use the SRT's engine... i suppose you see where I am coming from. People accuse me of being dumb to build up a 2L SOHC engine. It is rare to see a properly built SOHC because people choose the 2.4 block. I suppose I am dumb for using the 2.0l, but after a few more mods I already have laying around (waiting till spring), I will be running a very nice SOHC Neon. mmmm I can't wait! heh. I guess it is all about the money you put in!

Oh well, your call on the engine. If you stay SOHC welcome to the club : D

P.S. anyone else having problems using smilies? I dunno... all the sudden my web browser is acting funny with the boards (like not adding smilies)
