Hey Guys.I am near the end of my full power options conversion on my 2001 neonand i have run into a major problem my car wont start now.I had already replaced my door panels,latches,door wiring harnesses,trunk latch and wiring harness for srt-4 parts and everythingwas ok.Today i swapped out the interior harness.When i finished i started the car and within a few seconds the check engine light came on and it was flashing FUSE where the mileage reads.Does anybody know why it is doing this?I don't have the dash harness installed yet,does that matter?Shouldn't the car start without that swapped?ANY INSIGHT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED AS I CAN"T DRIVE ANYWHERE UNTILL THIS PROBLEM IS SOLVED.THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYS!

 

I'm confused... Are you swapping a full srt-4 engine and power options into your 2001?

Explain to me exactly what you did. SRT-4 parts are very vague. There are very large differences in 03+ harnesses compared to sub 03 cars...

Well my car was pretty much manual everything,so i wanted to add power mirrors locks and pop trunk to the car and have it factory and not just a cheap solenoid kit.I added srt-4 door panels,latches and wiring harnesses in the doors,Latch and harness in the trunk.To make the locks and pop trunk work i need them to be wired to the dashharnesswhich also has the remote keyless entry computer.(I have not installed that yet).I also figured that having all these srt-4 parts will help out greatly when i swap out the engine.

 

Is an 03 srt-4 dash harness not compatible with my 01 engine?

 

i doubt it they changed the entire wiring system on 03+ cars

 

I thought I found out that a SRT dash/guage cluster will not work with a standard SE/SXT/RT dash wiring plug, so maybe thats part of it? (when I was looking to replace my SE gauges withone with atach, had to get the SXT cluster, the SRT would not work)

I wouldn't even attempt this unless I had a beater or extra car to get me to school/work...

 

we'll guys/gals i got her started.It seems that the wiring to the canister underneath the rear bumper is a little different on the 03srt-4 harness.So i had to add a wire from my old harness to the new one.Now she starts no problem and the check engine light doesn't stay on anymore.One problem i am still having however,is that it is still flashing FUSE from the mileage part of my gauge.I have checked all fuses and relays and everything seems fine.Would some of the extra wiring for the power locks and pop trunk be causing this?
