IIRC, it's for the anti-theft system.

Does it stay on all the time? If so, I'm not really sure if it's the anti-theft light then. (Is it a SXT cluster, or a SE?) The SXT Cluster has the light in the top right (at least, I think it is, I generally don't stare at it. ), and I believe the SE is also somewhere around that area. It's just a round, red light that stays on for about 10 seconds and turns off (at least on my 2003 SXT converted SE)

Take the light out...the 2003 that the cluster came out of was equipped with a SKIM, and your 2000 is not equipped with the SKIM. Basically, the light is staying on because it can't detect the sentry key...but since you dont have a SKIM you dont have to worry about it...

Roger that on taking out the light. I took out the oil light on mine. Who needs that one anyways. I'll know if I have problems well before a light on my cluster would ever tell me.
