Default valve cover switch

I own a 01 neon. Is there any greive in putting a pre-2000 valve cover on a 2001 motor. Will I need o-rings for the spark plug wells, etc.?
Thanks

Oil pooling in intake manifold. A 2000-2005 design that lets oil from the valve cover be drawn into the intake manifold because of the location of PVC valve.
This happens on high milage cars.
