Default issue with clutch

Just today this problem occured. I was at a stop, pushed the clutch pedal in and it cracked like three timeand tried to shift into first gear but it wouldnt go in. Then i pressed and depressed the clutch in and out till it stopped cracking and it finally decided to go into gear. Its weird, when the clutch pedal decides to crack it seems harder to press in, it required more force and would not go into gear. But after several attempts it would finally not crack and the it would go into gear easily. I doubt its the clutch itself because i still feel a good pull. Anyone have any ideas what it can be? thanks.

I dont think mine is really slipping, im thinking its more of a problem with the pedal orsomething of that manner. I dont feel mine slipping when i take off, it is more of a problem getting it into gear sometimes(whenever that crack sound appears) and when it goes in fine, it really takes of as if nothing was wrong. By the way, the cracking sound seems to be coming from the inside, around where the pedal is located, it doesnt really seem to be coming from where the tranny is or anything like that.

Not sure of your problem but when its cold out mine is a little hard to go into first like you described. But I do not hear and cracking. It just gives some resistance going into first. Its not that bad thought I can still get it in pretty easy. Is yours only doing it when its cold, until the car is warmed up?

Nope, mine does it when it wants to. Anybody else have any more input, this is really frustrating. My mom got in the car today and actually noticed the cracking sound by the pedal, meaning its not just the same old feeling of the owner overlooking a little noise. Its anoying when your at a stop, push the petal in, cracks like crazy, gear doesnt go in so you have to press it again until it decides not to crack (which is usually around one to two more attemtps) and then finally take off. There have been a few times where it happens when im actually in movement and say, press the clutch down to go from third to fourth, but it cracks and it doesnt let me take it out of gear!! This has happen about two or three times within the past two days already. Im almost positive its not the actual clutch because when i do put it into gear it doesnt slip. I think its more of a cable problem, or however the clutches on the 00 neons work, anyone have a clue? Thanks.
