YouTube, does put a limit on how much you can transfer--so you can only transfer the movie in 100mb sections.. DVD's movies' file size can add up pretty quick, depending on resolution and what not...

I would say look for something to convert dvd to .avi and that should make your compression of the file size go down, and it won't damage the resolution too much... Look for dvd to avi programs on www.download.com ...Probably would be your best bet!

Good luck! Let me know if you need any more help!

This right here is probably your best bet:
http://www.dirfile.com/dvd_rip_n_burn.htm
*it's freeware, so it's completely free, but if it doesn't work try one of these below until you find one that helps*

This is your second best bet, with a bunch of diff choices and the top 2 are freeware...

If all else fails, try using a FREE TRIAL to do it:
You can try this:
http://www.shareup.com/dvd-to-avi.html
*You might be able to use the free trial, b/c most of the time the trials only do 50% of the movie..but it's worth a shot*

Or maybe one of these (using again the free trial)

Looking it over, I would try this one first...

http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=AutoGK

I've never converted dvd to avi, when I download movies they're always in .avi format already--and when I own a dvd to back it up I just dvd copy... But I would definitely based on comments try this autoGK program out first..It's freeware and seems to be a good shot!

Good luck!

When you make a dvd movie to dvd--you can use a dvd ripper in order to rip it as mpeg-4. Then you take that and use one of the converters to change it from mpeg-4 compression to avi compression.

Just google dvd ripper and you should find freeware for that too. Once you rip the dvd from the actual disc to your computer you can then convert it.
