Was driving in the snow on valentines day, stopped at a stop sign and car just turned off. Tried to turn it back on and it didn't click this time.. Got it towed and looked at the day after. Somehow, water managed to get in the PCM and screw it all up.. Shop called me and told me to go look at it and it really was wet but IDK how the hell that got wet like that because I wasn't trying to climb mountains with my car or anything, just regular driving. Then they're talking about $800 to get a new one and repogram it. They also told me I HAVE to buy a new PCM because I can't just go to the junk yard and get a used one. I was laughing in my mind because you really could just take anyother PCM and reprogram it.. He tried drying it out for a day but it still didn't work.

Car just passed the warranty by 3k miles!!!!! Pissed about that one.. Today I'm hopefully getting it towed to Dodge to see if they can give me a better price. I'll keep you guys updated..lol

 

get one from howellautomotive.com!! they come tuned for best performance and they are cheaper!!

I would aslo agree just buy an AF/x PCM...but then you have to run Premium fuel at all times, and you wont pass emissions if your state requires it. Not to mention, the AF/x PCM can throw some codes and doesnt work as perfectly as a factory programmed PCM.

You could aslo just find a PCM from a junk yard or Ebay from an 02 MTX and have htem flash that instead...no reaon to spend that kind of money on a new OEM unit.

 

Hmmm this is interesting.. The shop is charging me $315 for only towing it about 2 miles to the shop that night, about 7 miles to the dealership and looking at the damn car.. They just towed the car to the dealership without telling me or anything and I haven't paid a penny. I'm thinking about not paying since they have NO contact with me at all. Their service was horrible and I had to wait a week just to tell me the PCM was dead which I think is bull****..

I'll see what Dodge says, I told them not to buy any parts for the car before talking to me so I could just buy it myself if anything..
