Default interchange question

i have a 2000 neon 2.0 and i have a 95 neon.. will parts like the head and timing belt tensioner interchange from the 95 to the 00? and any other parts maybe? as long as the 8th digit in the vin is C correct?

Not sure about the timing belt tensioner, if its a hydraulic tensioner then I would assume so (FYI for other people the 02+ Neons use mechanical tensioners so it wouldnt work) and the actual head should also work...

yeah the head on the 00 got the valves warped when the timing belt snaped so i basicly wanted to see if i could just swap the heads out from the 95 to the 00.. but would the cam be diffrent? i dont know a whole lot at all about the 2.0 engine..

I think the the 95 cam is more agressive but not much the only broblem I would see is that 2gn don't have egr valve and the 1gn's do but you can just block it of modernperformance sells a kit too do it

ok well i got a head off of a 95 plymouth neon sport. it has the 2.0.. the only real diffrences i see from looking at the top of the head with the valve cover off if the EGR valve.. but my question is will it work with my 2.0 block? it has a egr and mine doesnt but the egr is closed until vacume is applyed so i should just be able to leave it on the head and just not hook vacume to it? it should be fine huh? thats if sensor wise or machanical wise it will interchange..

For the EGR, just buy the block off kit that MP sells...

As for the head, I dont see any reason why it wouldnt work on your block.
