You can just look in my sig for some good places to start as far as performance and modding in general goes, after that, check out the "2nd Gen FAQ and Performance Thread" for more detailed information.

Ignition wise, unless your stock coil pack is bad for whatever reason you dont need to replace it. The only thing aftermarket spark plug wires do is make your idle smoother, and dress up your engine a bit, o no "performance" gain for either of those items.

As for being new, you have to start somewhere, and just let me say welcome to the site and congrats on the 01 R/T, it has a lot of potential! Dont be afraid to ask questions, but make sure you like reading because we have a lot of information thats quite usefull when it comes to modding Neons.

The CAI should be first.
Modern performance has a few new headers for the regular neons and a few for the RT u should check out.
The Thermal R&D muffler.
UDP
An upgraded throttle body.
Later down the line, if you're not satisfied with your cam, a cam 12 will give a small gain on your RT. As far as performance, the cam 14 is best on the RT. It will have a rough idle though.

An upgraded computer will also help.
Correct me if I'm wrong; an upgraded computer (ON AN RT) will give a slight gain but it's probably not a huge gain. The reason I say that is b/c the RT already comes with a decent computer right?

No, bigger fuel injectors are useless with the level of modding your talking about...as for the cam, unless you go aftermarket PCM the Crane 14 is not the right choice. The #14 makes its power to 7200 RPM while we are PCM rev limited to 6750...however, since you have a 2001 you can buy an AFX Race PCM that will raise your rev limiter. If you plan on sticking with the stock PCM then go with the Comp 400 which stays within the stock powerband and was also designed specifically for the Magnum head; and has the same gains as a Crane 14.
