my check engine light codes
I just saw these codes on my car, can someone tell me what they mean?
P1684 Driver 5 Line 4
P0551 Power Steering Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
The last work I had done was last august and a power steering pump was replaced, could that mean there's a problem with that? I don't understand the other one at all. Help would be greatly appreciated =)

P1684 Driver 5 Line 4 you show is a General Motors code.
The dodge code for P1684 is battery disconnected within the last 50 starts.
OBDII codes starting with P1*** are manufacturer specific and the listing in this forum is in error.
P0551 Power Steering Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
This is a pressure sensor mounted on the steering rack and I think is suppose to boost the idle if the pressure drops to low.
I would try resetting it and see if it comes back.

ok i unplugged the neg part of the battery about 11 days ago to reset the cel code and everything was fine until it came on yesterday as i was driving on the highway. it's the same 2 codes as before, can someone explain why these are coming back on or what i can do to fix them?
like 5mins. the check engine light stayed off for a little over a week

One possibility is that the Power Steering Pressure Sensor on the rack is defective and allowing the idle to drop too low. This could result in the engine stumbling causing the alternator voltage to drop triggering the P1684 is battery disconnected code.
just leave it disconnected for at least 10 minutes. then re check what codes you get. if you get the 1684 dont worry about it it will stay there until you have 50 starts on the computer again.
