i think the clips are on the sides but i have not even attempted to take off the dash. does anyone know any brands of tweeters that you can upgrade too. i am looking to go all alpine but i dont think they offer 2.5" tweeters. thanks guys i'll let you know when i get al my speakers in and how it sounds

 

i bought the alpine speaker /tweeter kit......and i got pioneers in the back and a kenwood 4 channel 800 watt amp and a pioneer premiere s type 10 inch800 watt sub with the kenwood deck....its a solid setup....suprisingly the neons arent that bad for sound...mine blast so good i get headaches and i have my sub dialed in at 5 and goes up to 17....my set up cost me 1250 cdn taxes in....but i had 2 blown tweeters and 2 blown speakers....u will appreciate an upgrade...but u have to change the radio because good speakers dont sound as good on a stock radio

 

what model number speaker tweeter kit did you get i cant seem to find it, either that or i'm just not paying attention

 

yeah i upgraded my tweeters when i put my srt-4 cluster in my dash....the dash is really easy to get off...make sure the tweeters you get arent too big or your dash wont snap back down properly...mine were fine...i got some pyramid super bullet horn titanium tweeters...they are 3 and 1/4 inch and barely fit...so dont go any larger...definately make sure you dont get any tweeters that stick up abnormally high...good luck..
oh and tweeters are tweeters...dont worry about what you get all too much...they all hit amazingly high frequencies and its hard to tell if they are distorting until you crank your volume all the way up to the max.

 

I thought a while ago some one said those little 2.5 inch speakers up in the front window were not tweeters but just very small full range speakers...

...unless there is some upgrade/Bose/Infinity/etc. as an option on the higher end or SRT models

 

I don't think all cars have the speakers in the dash.

 

you talking about different years of Neons? ...cuz I assume my SE is the lowest option model out there...even came with a cassette!... so I know the stereo was not the upgrade model...and it does have the little speakers up in the dash....

 

where can i find da clips for da dash. i cant find them

 

I thought all the newer ones 00+ didn't have them. Mine came with the cassette but no in dash speakers
