holy crap thats a HUGE post^^^^

First off i would just like to say, without a muffler (to me at least) the car sounds horrid!!! Like a Stock car with nothing to back the sound up! I did not have a muffler for about a week, after the tickets, headachs, and ringing in the ears, i got a real muffler...... louder is not better....... unless you drive a civic, in that case it give you 50-100 hp!!! hahaha

In all reality you loose hp, if you cant feel that, well then i dont know what to say....... taking off your muffler is a bad idea. I have been told by many mechanics that is is bad for the motor. My old Dodge D100 (318ci)had just headers and a turn outs, i had tons of problems with stalling and idel, i finally built a full exhaust and all were solved. So that pretty much should tell you right thier, if the car has problems staying on, how can it possible be pulling all the ponys out of it????

takin da muffler doesnt add hp but upgrading ur whole cat- bak exhaust system would definetly add a few horses

ok so ppl i need a lil advice!!! i have a 2000 dodge neon, n i have some sort of fart can on my car(no its not there cuz of me) so theres a 2.25 inch pipin from the cat all the way to the fart can, no headers.
now let me tell you this car sounds really deep n loud(not as loud and gay as a hona civic) and i have an srt4 dual exhaust n i was wondering would this be a good set up;
Im thinking about obx long tube headers(i think they eliminate the cat),2.25 piping all over till the srt exhaust. what do u guys think?? im looking for performance and that kinda srt sound.

 

^for the trouble you could just go with the SRT exhaust the whole way back, many ppl sell their stock exhaust off the srt pretty cheap.
