Default throttle getting stuck

So I was taking up my RPMs today... This has been a problem in the past. Seems like when I go into higher RPMs when I let off the gas it stays there. Kind of feels like the throttle is stuck and it as a hard time slowing down...yeah. Maybe I knocked something when I put the AEM CAI in??? Help would be awesome

when i put in my intake, there wasnt much support for the throttle body so it sat alot lower than it did with the stock air box. this made the throttle pulley (im not sure the correct name) to get caught up on, if I remember right, the tube that the oil dip stick goes in, or it wasmaybe one of the valves or something right there, but then it would slide back off. Just take a look by the throttle body and make sure it's not resting close to or on something to cause to pulley to get stuck. if it is you'll have to get creative with lifting it up a bit to get enough clearance.

Hi, guys. Not sure if you can help me, but I saw the title to this thread and thought I'd ask. I have a 2000 Plymouth Neon LX. This morning while I was on my way to work, towards the end of my drive I began having trouble braking, as the car really seemed to want to keep driving instead of stopping. As I would press the brake, I was having to fight with the accelerator it seemed. Then when I would let off of the brake and not press anything, the car would continue to accelerate. Finally, when I put the car in park, the throttle went WAY up. This FREAKED me out!!! I'm guessing the throttle got stuck?? How did this happen and when I start my car tonight, am I going to hit the wall?! I should mention that a few days ago, the ABS system apparently went out and now each time I drive the car, I have trouble braking after a while and eventually the ABS and "trac off" lights will come on to indicate that they ABS has been deactivated. Not sure ifthe ABS and throttle issuesare related...I was thinking that the ABS problemwas possibly electrical, because shortly after that started, the fog light indicator started coming on, though my fog lights were not in use...the indicatorwould sort of flicker off and on. I don't know what to do...I just finished spending $1500 to fix the timing belt, which upon breaking decided to tear up everything else. I just don't feel safe in this car anymore!
Thanks for any help you guys can offer...I'm afraid to take it to a mechanic. I'll probably get ripped off.

oh boy. sounds like you have some serious problems. Timing belt breaking usually doesn't like to go without breaking a lot of other things. Your ABS problem I can't help with. Your throttle problem seems to be similar to mine. It really only happened once. I checked my throttle cable and everything around and that touches it. Seems like it should be fine. nothing is clipping it or anything. I haven't had the problem since I posted the first message.

wow - thanks so much for responding. i'm going to go down and try to start the car (leaving it in park) to see what happens. i just talked to my dad (yeah, i only know a few small things about cars...boo!) and he's thinking it still could be electrical (well, he's not ruling it out) thinking that maybe the cruise control could be messed up too, along with all of the other probs. but he said it sounds like the throttle is stuck somehow. he lives in another state so he can't do much to help me at this point!! but i'm going to go down to the parking garage and try to start it to see if it revs up again while in park. thanks again - i hope it's ok!!
