Thumbs up DIY - 14x3 Air Filter Assembly

Heres your basic supplies you need...
14X3 Airfilter ( You can go smaller but no bigger)
Threaded Rod
Breather
1/2" Throttle Body Spacer (Clears the lines, Mr. Gasket worked nicely)
Sawsall
Vice/Pliers/Leverage Bar

Heres the threaded rod you need..... 20" 1/4"

Heres the breather.... no stores had 1" but 1" 1/4 should work since most people said there 1" was alittle loose....

Now for the threaded Rod, Heres your basic plans to follow..

I bought 3 Feet of threaded Rod....Notice the Nut on the end, Use this so that when you cut the rod you then take the nut off and it rethreads the rod for you...

Bend it 3/4" to center the offset...

Next you need to start taking apart the stock air filter box....
First unscrew the clamp using a flat head screw driver...and remove the vacuum line from the stock airbox...

Now squeeze the ends of the stock CAI and release from the passanger side fenderwell....

Now, pull the hanger out of the rubber grommet located above the alternater...

Almost there.....Now lift off factory airbox, and screw in your custom made S-Bolt

Heres your throttle body.....Reminds me of a 2 barrell carb....NOTICE: the offset thread, this is where you S-Bolt comes in....

Now place your old school air cleaner ontop and tighten down...

Now Enjoy!

UPDATE!
I didn't like how the edelbrock breather looked so I made this....
Heres what I did:
Took out stock grommet and put the edelbrock in, it looked decent but i felt like i could make it better. So I took a trip down to AA Auto and got a vacuum line breather that matches the AC. Next I took the stock grommet and cut it to have a flat nipple. Finally take your new breather and tighten over your custom made grommet. NOTE: The air cleaner vacuum line comes off in sections so you dont have to break the whole thing, only the endpiece.....Enjoy this one, haven't seen anyone else do it this way.

Heres some blunders I made....

Heres the hose attached to the airfilter that I broke the end off....

Heres A good picture of what you need to pry off your valve covers....

Thanks to Silver....and all the rest who helped me out....

So is this a rubber grommet you have to pull off? I was pulling by hand so hard thats how i broke it....I'll try screwdriver and pliers prying.....Anyone have any input that took this off before?

Just stick a heavy screw driver in the broken piece and pry it out.
Excellent pic of the VACUUM CHECK VALVE IN THE TEE THAT GOES TO THE CRUISE AND A/C EVERYONE!!!

I found it easier to pry the grommet out with the piece and then separate them after.
