Question Need to rebuild your transmission?

While doing research for my rebuild, I noticed that there was a lack of information (with exception to MonteC's wealth of knowledge and Gobbell's thread about his rebuild) about how to rebuild it step by step. I spent a good while looking for people who journaled it step by step and came across some that really helped me out tremendously. Here are the links. Now you be the judge.

(This is Gobbell's website. GREAT PICS TO REFERENCE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUILD)

(The 46re's can skip the governor section in this build)

(This rebuild is for a 47rh but it's generally the same thing)

(This one, by far, is my favorite in terms of detail)

Here's the ATSG manual. This is were I got it from. Gobbell's has the video on his site.

And the FSM is in the DIY section. Larramie posted it.

As far as parts, I got my hard parts and solenoids from

My rebuild kit from Ebay.

And lastely, my torque converter from Precision of New Hampton. I got a stock low stall converter for $165 (it only took 3 days from ordering it to receiving it) but they offer performance one's for more. The sky's the limit. MonteC highly recommended this company and I thank him for that because it's pretty awesome.

I also bought the sonnax sure cure kit about 7 months ago from the parts for sale section in the DF for only $80 (I couldn't pass that up) but never got to install it until now.

The rebuild is not as hard as you think. Just like in life, when rebuilding your tranny, you HAVE TO pay attention to detail, stay within specs and keep a clean station.

And if you ever have any question, don't be afraid to ask. Just like HeyYou told me, "the only stupid question is the one that's not asked". Good luck fellas.
