The only Mega Cab long box, the extended fuel capacity built into the truck as OEM, the extra-fancy interior (it's fancier than the Laramie Longhorn, that's why RAM started the whole concept in the first place), 10-bolt, factory air-ride, and other features many people would have to add in later. The Long Hauler has all of those factory. Plus, it's cool to drive such a big long truck...

ehhhh fancy leather is overrated. Its basically just a 5500 with fancy stuff.

Who needs a back seat that reclines?

Call me old school. I'm happy with a 3/4 ton Ram. If I ever go up, I'd get a sharp looking 99 F-350 7.3 Power stroke ext. cab 4x4. I stop every four hours regardless. I liked the old 7.3's, Fords best diesel. K.

Fancy leather is comfortable. And yes it's a fancied up 5500. Lot more towin capacity than a 3500 HD.

Who needs a back seat that reclines? When you're on the road all the time, and have passengers in the back seat, they'll thank you for it. Doesn't seem to me like you've done a lot of long hauls... j/k.

It's probably all you need. And yep the 7.3PSD was the best diesel Ford ever made. The worst, the 6.4. It beats the 6.0 even.

The Ram Long Haulers is aimed moreso at people in the competition area. Things like horses, rodeos, and car haulers. These people have the $$$, and the need for a truck like this. While it's a pretty small segment, this truck would entirely fill their needs. Put it this way: Their trailers often will cost more than the Ram Long Hauler ever would.

has a crap axle ratio too... 4.88 gears? really... talk about running at redline trying to hold freeway speeds...

even 4.10 sucks with a cummins..

I'll take 3.54's over 4.10 or lower any time!

you gotta realize the cummins redlines at 3200rpm.

4.88 gears on something that taps out at 3200 = omg WTF were you thinking?!

be in overdrive long before you hit freeway speeds!

diesels are nothing like gassers. we don't need to rev out to make power. I make peak torque around 2000rpm. make it even sooner if I had a VGT...

there is a reason the new cummins trucks run 3.42 gears now... the 6spd autos already have a granny gear and plenty of filler gears... absolutely no need for low axle ratios with a limited RPM engine that makes maximum power at an RPM that a gasser would fall on its face at...

It's probably to compensate for the detuned engine and to keep some kind of respectable towing capacity.

I hate it when potential employers call, leave their name which you can't hear clearly, don't leave their number or a company name and tell you to call them back.

My phone wasn't in signal when he called, so I have a voice mail and no call back number and no number in the call logs... F_uckin great

More then 1 application in too, no idea who he was calling with...

Jigabop: Don't the newer 2010+ CRD Cummins have a higher redline than the older ones?
