i got my old Kemp wood chipper running today. it says a lot for briggs and stratton and seafoam because it didn't take much to get it going. i put a cap full of seafoam in the cylinder, about 4-5 cap fulls in the gas and when i pulled the oil drain plug i ran a little fresh oil through it and let it run out the drain hole, then put about 1/3 of a can of seafoam through it and plugged it back up for a few minutes with the seafoam in the oil, then ran more fresh oil through it to get the seafoam out before filling it up with oil.
i got it running initially with carb cleaner, then a cup full of gas introduced directly into the carburetor. then after playing with the carb adjustment screw a little, it ran on its own. i chipped up a few sticks to test it out (it chewed them up and spit them out like when you give rosie o'donell veggies) and i'm going to change the oil again before i put it to work.
oh, did i mention that it has been sitting for at least 20 years without running?

my garage floor is white, from all the damn salt dripping off the trucks.
and i mean ALOT of salt, the garage floor crunches when you walk across where the trucks park.

i sure hope they're wrong and we get a couple feet. sucks that the last time we got snow/ice i had to work all weekend, and it's happening again this weekend. hopefully we get a couple feet and it sticks around till monday/tuesday when i'm off.
