yeah i took the factory hitch.. and then reinforced it i've had probably around 15k tongue weight on it before hitch holds up fine but the front tires start getting a little light lol
ya. my 81 would have the same problem. back end sit to high thanks to a farm style add a leaf kit. it would have a very light front end without the right hitch
pretty much. that is the average with my lead foot, 318 and a 4barrel carb. last top up had me at 12mpg but i have had as high as 15mpg and as low as 7.7mpg
dang thats not much better than mine i got a 01 dodge 2500 4x4 i got like 9.2mpg.. but i did do my plenum repair... and tune up so i hope that will help
when i bought the truck 4 years ago it has 295/75/16 tires on it.. and i got about 16mpg on the freeway..and like 13in town... but i got bigger tires not 35x1250x20 plug way more miles.... and its a guzzler lol
ya. its not great but i know i could do way better if i would just drive like a sane person or finished hooking up my cruise control. next summer i am hoping to fix the bottom end of the 318 that is in my 91 and then put it in my 81. it has a 2 barrel carb with a rv cam so it get good gas mileage even with my lead foot.
