FarmBoy428's Truck Walk Around
All I've done to mine so far is a K&N FIPK, a Superchips Flashpaq, and miscellaneous maintenance. In addition to the Back Rack and toolbox, that is. I can't be comfy on the road without my tools and enough spare parts stashed away to fix it where it breaks so I've just got to have a toolbox in the bed.
I've got more parts lying around in boxes than I've put on -- in a "resort living" apartment I can't just go wrench on the thing whenever I want to, but we're moving out of here shortly and then I'll have a garage again. Next up is the 100k maintenance and a fresh exhaust system behind the manifolds, but the exhaust is waiting until we go visit our daughter who's nine hours away and who'll let me wrench on the truck at her house. From there we're going on to find a house in the area where we want to live -- no garage, no deal!
When I've got my garage, it gets a speedo re-cal unit, Gibson shorty headers, a Mega Viper auto trans, electric cooling fans, interior cosmetics, a Buckstop Outback bumper on front and a matching rear, a fresh paint job with a matching grille, some slick wheels to make the wife happy, upgrades in the front suspension and steering (which are not high priorities because what's there now is nice and tight), max legal tint on all the glass save the windshield, and maybe a Hughes Air Gap FI manifold.
After that, well... it depend upon how much time and money is available while/after we build the wife's truck. She's got a thing for the late 1950's body styles so it's pretty certain to be a frame-up resto-mod truck. If she leaves me any time/money the Ram will get wicked brakes to launch unbelted passengers through the windshield (just because I love wicked brake systems), a True-Trac rear and some kind of switchable locking front diff, and miscellaneous other whatnot that I just can't live without.
The cool part is that as far as my wife is concerned I have an almost unlimited tool budget. She also has lots of projects planned for my reconstituted wood shop. I'm a lucky guy.
My brother-in-law has a place in your neck of the woods... if we ever get an excuse to go there I might need some help to get through a bottle of tequila. You've gotta have a Ram by then -- I don't drink with guys who drive Hondas.
Thanks for the clarification. I just wanted to be sure.

It does seem like your insurance company went about it all wrong and is going to lose money no matter what they do now. I'm hoping to hear that it all works out in your favor and one way or another you end up with a Ram truck under your *** again.

Of course when you have that garage lol I mean thats a lot of work and itll totally be worth it. I also here yea with the tools! Always had mine, what I needed atleast, plus other random stuff just incase I got stuck and what not.
Yea, my insurance is losing money either way. Lets just say itll be cheaper for them to drop a new engine in my truck lol but thats not including replacing keys and other small stuff and also buffing out all the scratches and detailing it. I cant believe the ****in tow truck company scratched up my truck that bad! Even dented it in some places. My god, it was ridiculous how scratched up the old girl was. :'(
Ha, well you can count on my *** bein over a Ram by then
lol Although its over one now since I can drive the new Hemi, well for the next couple days.
nah you just need an exhaust hanger and some clamps thats what we did to my buddies 98, the stock muffler is a boat , you could just cut that off and see how you like that 1st, thats how most people running them i dunno .. dont cut off the cat though
I fully intend to have the grandsons fighting over which of them gets grandpa's truck when I jump off. What they don't know is that, if I get my way, in the moments before I die I'm going to hide the ignition key about four inches up my ***. Whichever one of the four who wants it that badly will have to earn it! It's not that I want the grandkids digging around in my ***, but that I think it'd be really funny to know that they're fighting over which of them gets to do it.
If we get up that way next summer and you're still active here in the forum I'll be sure to PM you. Unless you don't want to drink an old long-haired freaky grandpa's tequila... in which case I'll just have to accept the hangover as being of all my own doing.
Ahahaha well before we get the
Im gonna say this..
Lmao... shoving the keys up your ***. They must really love you right? lol
Some of us are just plain stupid! And it annoys the hell out of me. Especially when there are stupid drivers(Almost killed a dumb **** biker passing on a double yellow, on a blind curve, on a mountain pass. Thats smart right? no..)
Yea, none of what theyve done has made any sense. I doubt what they will do this next week will and I bet we will have to get an attorney.
Yea, but they had to have hauled *** down the mountain with all the scratches and dings that are on it. But, they dont give a ****. But if its there vehicle they take their happy *** time.
Ahaha its not rental coverage tho!
Its the pops truck lol the rental we got was a Chevy Malibu(cheap *** car). Haha well I probably will be on here next year, more than likely I will be since Ill have a dodge under my *** and I will be asking "why is this happening?!?!" But, Im down to drink anything! lol Believe me, Ive had almost everything you can drink and probably have been sick on most of it and still like it! ahaha
