So that's what that green ball is for.
I believe it was lblair that replaced his fuel pump and was wondering what the ball that was in his tank was for.

 

The green ball is to keep people from being able to steal your gas, kinda hard to stick a hose in your tank if there is a green ball in the way

 

Yes its a dual, got it off of ebay for like $89.99

 

Yeah, and my replacement one didn't have that in it.
So now I have to figure a way to pop that thing out with out breaking the cheap plastic...

dual is cheap walmart junk.......i hated the one in my g/fs old truck

 

It's pretty easy to steal it if that ball is rolling around in the tank and not in the fill neck.

Thats because somebody has knocked it out or it came out somehow.

But his is still in the line, not floating around

 

I was referring to lblair's tank, which had the ball rolling around in it when he changed the fuel pump.

Found the thread. He called the dealership and the tech told him that it is there to keep the gas from dumping out if you flip your truck (but what about the gas cap? it would do the same thing).
