Taller gears & maybe some 1.7rr will fix that issue

lol.... its kind like if you think about a bicyle with gears,, when you start form a stop you have the bike in a low gear, because its hard to pedal if the bike is in top gear

so your truck with the big tires and poor gear ratio it kinda like riding a bike and trying to pedal in top gear.... so if you had lower gears and truck would tak off easyer and faster

Very good analogy.

If only our rearends could change gears like a bicycle though.....

Ashley
Gears already explained above so,
The SCT is a tuner that reprograms the stock computer via the obd port just above the gas pedal.
It will give you more aggressive timing(advances timing) & fuel trims to match the timing that should net about 15rwhp (give or take)
Torque management will be removed (easier to spin tires) shift rpms will be raised, redline limit will be raised & the mph limiter removed.

The 1.7rr replace you stock stamped non roller rockers that are ontop of the valves on the heads.
Stock is 1.6:1 ratio, with the 1.7:1 ratio your valves will open a bit farther & give a very slight longer duration of opening for both the intake & exhaust valves.
That in turn will give a bit more hp/trq across the operating range of the mtr.
Usuable power is added pretty well from 650rpm idle right to 5000rpm redline(or higher if SCT tuner added).
Here is what the stock stamped non roller rockers look like

Below are my HS 1.6rr, the 1.7rr will look pretty well identical to whats on the left side.
I have rocker girdles so the adjusting nuts are much longer (left side just sitting there before I added adjusters).

Mine, too. I'll get a locker in there one day and gladly lose the ability to waste good money.
