Default 96 work in progress

Here's my 96 project truck. As you can see I have my hand full with body work. I still have a long way to go but I am enjoying every minute of this!!!

Welcome to DodgeForum, fellow Michigander.

Looks like you got a regular dodge there, rusted rockers/lower doors and rusted wheel-wells. Mine suffers from the same problem, although not quite as bad as yours, yet.

What are your plans for the truck?

As a new member, I would suggest doing a search for information about the "Plenum" gasket and "Death Flash", if you haven't already, because those are a few common problems that our trucks have a tendency to run into.

Good luck!

I have read about those problems, also the problems with the re46 tranny, all I still need to address. As for the truck its going to go thru a make over inside and out. It just gives me something to do in my spare time. Ive always had Chevys but now Its Dodge's turn. Definitely a whole different animal!!

I used to be a chevy guy too, but my dad's a big dodge guy and over the years I've become completely convinced that Dodge will be the only truck I ever buy I've had mine for almost 2 years now(the longest I've ever kept a vehicle in one piece and roadworthy!), and I've had great luck with it so far. It does suffer from the plenum issue and dodge's bad steering, but nothing major has gone wrong with it... (knock on wood) It hasn't left me stranded yet, and that says alot based on my past experience with cars

welcome to the forum, there's a ton of info and great guys and gals here so you shouldn't have any trouble finding what ya need!

Well it looks like a trans fluid change is in order. Its totally burnt! Maybe that's why it doesn't shift into 3 or OD and reverse is lagging.

Welcome to DF. I've learned a lot about our trucks here. You northern guys catch hell with all that snow and salt. It's rare down here to see vehicles with very much rust, at least that's been my experience.

Ok Ive installed new cap, plugs, wires and rotor. Ive made sure that the routing of the wires are as per this diagram http://autorepair.about.com/cs/faqs/l/bl654h.htm. But it still misses when you step on the gas . tot tot tot sound.
Also the plug wires are 7mm and the plugs are Bosch Plats.
