Default Can I add remote start to my 97 2500

I have a 97 Ram 2500 with the 360 with auto trans. I was looking at remote start for it and I was wondering if I could use one with the keyless entry? But on my truck I dont think I have keyless entry but I do have power door locks. Now can I use the remotes with the keyless entry or will I need to have the keyless entry on the truck first im pretty sure its all ran through the keyless entry module so if I dont have one I probably cant use the remotes for unlocking/locking. Also how hard are these to install?

You are in the wrong section but I can help you with that. An alarm with RKE and RS can be added to any ride. Unless you are very skilled in electronics that having to do with custom wiring and relays, you should let a shop do the install for you. As long as you have power locks you will be ok. The remotes that come with the RKE will work with your existing locks once the kit is installed. Again, if you are not good with a volt/ohm meter, know how to wire resistors and relays and find the wires in your ride, let a shop do it.

I had a Black Widow S-1 installed years ago and still working great... Keyless door lock and Remote start.. http://www.blackwidowsecurity.com/s1.htm

I did not have keyless entry either just electric door locks.

You can buy just the remote start modules and not have to get an alarm but for the price you might as well get an alarm
