yay, I have my new Transfer case
im jsut excited about it, so i thought i would post it up....fter over a month of my truck being out of commision, i finally get to bring her back to life.
To my luck my boss had a 231, and a 241, and i grabbed the 231 obviously. hes putting the 241 in his truck since he just dumped almost 10K into his 5.9L, which is now a 6.1L. So the T-case is from my old boss' truck, so i know whats been done to it, and he never wen off-roading with it.
but aside from that, i got the T-case, i switched out the speed sensors today, and put on the shift lever. shifted it by hand into 2wd, 4hi, neutral, and 4lo, and all seems great. locks right in, and theres absolutly no play in the shafts, which is a good thing.
Tomorrow i hope to get it in the truck, and be able to take it to my first day at work on my new job monday. I have docs provin it has 76K on the T-case.
ZMAN, i DO want that T-case saver. Im going to Maine either next weekend, or the week after, and hopefully i can grab it on the way up, or way back.
Im just getting the T-Case in the truck, so i can see how it works. I can still put in the T-Case saver with it in the truck, so why not. Im only going to drive it monday, and then it shall sit once again until i get the T-case saver.
T-case cost me $240 and it only has 76K, and was owned by my old boss, AND, it has a new shaft seal in it, so i only have to change the one thats in the tranny, and even that one is only 27K old....cant beat that.
