7mpg ? Sounds like something more is going on there.. thats really bad. I get 12mpg in the winter on my 5.9 and my city stop and go stop and go is really bad.

there is something wrong.. why you drive in 4x4 all the time.. you'd be surprised what you can get through in 2 wheel with these trucks

Depends what type of tire you got. The last storm my area got hit with, truck didn't do so well in 2wd.

2WD-4WD doesnt affect gas mileage that much, it was already proven with Jeeps when people switched the NP249 transfercase (4wd all time) to the NP242 with the 2wd and 4wd option. You get .6 to 1mpg more thats it, and i dont think a 250 lbs bumper does anything either, i weigh 310lbs by myself and i dont see a 3inch lift lowering gas mileage by that much either. Have you ever checked the intake manifold for a bad gasket ? Maybe burning oil.

Anyway i can see why you want to sell it, if i was getting 7mpg i would probably have to sell my Jeep, 10-12mpg is the limit for me any worse and i wont drive it. Thats why im going to probably get a MSD box and other mods this spring/summer to increase my gas mileage. There are people on the Jeeps forums who have bigger lift's and tires then you with a MSD box who went from getting like 10mpg to 15mpg in the city.

I live in the mtns and there is snow pack nov-april or may. At a minimum i need 4wd to get up my driveway.

Plenum checks out good and she don't burn oil, i even tried babying here and couldn't do any better of mpg. Also seems to run just fine, doesn't seem like it runs rich or anything.

Went and checked my spark plugs and they look like they did when i put them in 15k ago, checked the cat again andd its ifne(lol blown out i should say), checked serp belt and pullies there all good, checked plug wires and those are good, engine runs really smooth. So maybe 7mpg is what my truck gets and nothing is wrong?

Maybe its the thin mountain air, combined with winter gas. cold temps, the lift, 4wd ect. That sucks.
