Can't do that on the newer Fords. Even if you use the "return to stock" option, the computer will still leave a trace that it has been tampered with. Warranty is then voided.

Great looking truck by the way, you will be able to tow anything you wish.

thats a damn nice super duty bud! 400hp/800lb/ft from the factory. too bad tuning is still in the development stages...

id love to have a 6.4 PSD. those are bad to the bone! with a spartan tune alone they make 550/1350 to the REAR WHEELS!

diesels are great to have it you are doing any towing. my friend has a CTD and hauled a van i bought home and you could not feel it and we went up and down a few hills. Between his trailer and my van i would have to guess the total weight to be around 10,000# possibly more.

I'm pretty sure all the computers in the trucks nowdays are like that.

Anyways with 400 horsepower and 800 ft. lbs. of torque, you wont see me having to chip it.

The dodge was just struggling way too much on the interstate. Sure the lift and tires don't help, but even when it was stock hills were slow going. I was sold after driving my brother in laws super duty.

why not the cummins. They dont have urea tank you will need to fill. and they are well IMO a much more reasnoably priced truck for what you get. Also they have a Cummins motor instead of a just built first of ever built by ford and ford alone diesel. I mean it may be a great motor for lets say the first 100xxx mile or it may got the way of the 6.0l and 6.4l plus if you need to work on it get ready to pull the cab off. But if your happy thats all that matters.

the 6.0 had two major problems- weak head bolts and injectors, the 6.4 has no notorious problems and is one hell of a motor with TONS of potential. the 6.7 has not been a problem engine yet, but only time will tell. Ford didnt just throw this engine together on short notice as International did with the 6.0. Ford built this engine thinking that they could improve on reliablilty, if they wanted another engine plagued with problems, they would have stayed with International.

as far as taking the cab off, that can be said with any new truck.

are you jealous because the 6.7 PSD puts out more power than the 6.7 CTD?

Incorrect. Chrysler just rolled out a new H.O 6.7L Cummins that makes 425HP and 800TQ... With that and the worked suspension, the Ram is now the leader in terms of power and towing capacity coming in at 22,700 pounds.

Also, for whoever said it earlier, the 6.7L that Ford has right now has not been proven yet and that worries me. I've got family in the market for a new HD (looking to sell his 2004 F350 6.0 with 125,000 miles on it) and up until the news about the improved motor in the Ram.

The problem with the 6.7 is that it is untuneable or chipable yet. It isn't a matter of not being able to do it, it's a matter of the idea that there isn't a way yet for people to do it with out their dealer knowing right off the bat. Nowadays dealers are hooking up these trucks (gas and diesel) to a computer that phones home Ford's head quarters logging every single bit of data about the truck. The issue is that the new computers will fire off a hidden code that consumer scanning tools and simple power disconnects cannot fix. It's an issue for sure.
