Hey, I came up with the idea of taking 4th gen side view mirrors from a sport model and put them on my 2nd gen. I want to get the sport model ones because I want to paint them the color of my truck. Do you think I could fabricate a mount for this to work? Has anyone ever made an attempt at trying this?

 

You could, if you are really, I mean really good with fiberglass or ABS plastic. Otherwise, I dont see it happening.

Sand down and smooth your Mickey Mouse mirrors, and paint them or get some towing mirrors and paint them.
