Thats the awesome part of being in a VR squadron, no boats. That means Those two little words every one loves 'Per Diem" When I was there last I got $55 a day, plus Haz. duty and Tax Free and three free meals a day. I left there after almost 3 months pocketing 3k plus on top of my base pay.

I will admit though being there in June and July the heat sucked ***, it was 90 something at 10 at night and 115 to 120 on the flight line, and the sand was horrible I remember being able to stare directly at the sun in the middle of the day and thought it was a 20 watt bulb.

I loved the culture there the food and the shopping, you could get anything cheap if yhou knew how to haggle, A friend of mine got a Hookah there that in American was priced at around $200 for something like $75 American. Hell, we haggled for Shwarmas while there.
