Thats exactly what I'm saying. The companies want you to think that a CAI gains 10hp, ect. Under perfect conditions and at high rpm maybe, real world maybe 5 hp at best. It really isn't worth it unless you go big. Ive been there, I got my truck at 15 and spent a bunch of money and time upgrading it and it is still a slow, gas guzzling, POS. It was fun but looking back I should have saved the money (and bought a cummins). I don't want to dissapoint you but just don't have huge expectations. These trucks preform pretty well compared to the 70's and 80's trucks. Back then a CAI would gain 10hp because the factory stuff was so bad. Thats not the case with these trucks.

You would feel it, if installed at one time, but look at the cost, headers $200, CAI $300, tuner $350, 1.7RR $375, exhaust system $300 ect. This list is at $1525 already. You could put heads on for that or put the money towards something actually fast like a street bike, or fast car (or towards college).

yeah you will def. feel a increase in power with those mods. better throttle responce and low end and mid range. 20 hp doesnt seem like alot but really it makes a world of difference.
I have about 900 into my mods but not counting price of e fans cause I traded for them so if you want to have some fun and have the cash go for it

That is very similar to the ebay ones. I have never been impressed with spectre, they were a cheap autozone brand until their new marketing campaign. All the aftermarket filters (from any company) do is filter less and let more air in. But you are right, it is cheap. It think my K+N was $275 and was the biggest waste of money on the truck.

ahh well.. i like the truck alot if 20hp is all i get then thats still goin to be a nice increase... and it will sound mean. i dont really want to get into all the internal work and all.. my other projects on the truck are fixing the interior(with that god awful confetti interior and all). its my DD. and considering its been kept in the family and it was my great grandpas before he passed and its all paid off.. im going to keep it for a long time. and i just wanna customize it and make it mine.

Good luck with the project and have fun. I wouldn't have listened to me back then either, lol.
