This thread reminds me of the saying that one of the advantages of four-wheel drive is that it allows you to get stuck farther from the road.

Also reminds me that a winch is a damn good accessory.

Man, doesn't that always make something even more of a pisser??

OK, I know this ain't no Dodge, but I'm mighty fond of this Ramsey 12,000-pounder that I put on my '72 International 1700 all-wheel drive crane truck; "The Beast from the East" I like to call her. 392 gasser, 5-speed, 15,000 lb. crane. She's been stuck, but not for too long.

That would be my dream firewood truck. I've always wanted a crane.

I hate to get off topic here, but did you take this truck to the any of CT's state fairs for truck pulls last year? Because I remember a very similar truck at Portland Fair (I think that's where, could be wrong though).
Just curious as to if it was your truck

I have to say, it's an insanely handy thing to have around. Puts an end to a lot of the ol' "now how the hell am I gonna do THIS?" Kinda like having an anti-gravity device.

And it's amazing how cheap some of this old iron goes for, so I hope you end up with one.

I did a fine job of hijacking this thread, didn't I? No, I've never taken it around to any fairs or shows, but I just might after she's all prettied-up. I actually found a pair of NOS fenders, and I'm going to repaint the truck Penske ("Go ahead and pull me over") yellow.
