What is your backup vehicle
The Ram IS the backup vehicle. I bought it because the wife and I downsized our fleet of vehicles which we owed money down to one, her Patriot. My "baby" is a 1995 Caprice 9C1 with a clean California undercarriage-

However, I've been driving the Caprice while the weather holds to save wear on the truck since it's on it's last legs evidently.

We have a family SUV (5.7 Hemi Chrysler Aspen), and that is the primary familymobile. For me personally though, my Ram is my backup vehicle to my daily driver, a Suzuki Swift. It is my DD (i.e. back and forth to work and arends around town) because it get 46 mpg. I paid $1500 3 years ago - paid for itself in under 6 months. I use the Ram as a backup, when I need to haul loads, when I go hunting/fishing, and when there is deep snow on the ground.

Looks like crap, but it gets the job done for a DD, and is cheap to own.
