It depends if the injectors are dirty on the inlet side. When I tore into my engine for a complete rebuild, 3 of the injectors were completely plugged on the inlet side and there was quite an accumulation of debris on the passenger side of the rail. The tank had to be cleansed of debris *and* the regulator looked like a coffee filter after a fresh pot had been brewed.

There are several threads around here that detail the routing of the plug wires (in case that's the issue) but you'll have to carefully inspect each part of the ignition system to locate the actual problem. Keep us posted.

Never assume that more than one thing can't go wrong at the same time even if they are not connected . I have had 2 things go wrong at the same time that had nothing to do with each other and left me puzzled and chasing my tail . If it were me I would get a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner (I found it works better than others I've tried, although many would argue with me about Lucas Products ) I run twice the recommended amount through a friends Toyota and it cleaned and fixed his plugged injectors . I would also Put a Distributor cap / Rotor / and a new set of quality wires and route them correctly . Here is a link

Sounds to me like your pump sucked up some crud in the bottom of your tank and that it just happens to be that at the same time you have ignition problems , such as a bad cap. This would be a relativity cheap way to start out . Hope this helps

The only thing the above is doing is just throwing parts at the problem rather than diagnosing and correcting the actual problem.

I can agree with that ....guess it depends on when ,if ever they have been changed . I had a misfire and rough running truck after installing my headers , everyone on here said it was caused by the headers and the elimination of the EGR and the 2.5" exhaust being to large . It had nothing to do with anything exhaust related and was caused by a bad Cap . It just happened to decide to mess up after installing the headers .

My Ram went into the shop today but not for the previous problems stated.
Today Treena gets her new Boss Powered V-Plow installed. When completed, we will recap and wire the distributor and stick some new plugs in her. Chance are that going from hot Florida weather to cold slushy salted roads raised havoc with the ignition. It might sound like I'm throwing parts at the problem but this makes the most sence at the moment.
I'll post some pic's when the plow is on. The original owner wants to see what a v-plow looks like. So, I'll post back in a day or two.
Thanks for all the replys.

Great news!
Turns out that the distributor cap was arced out and carboned up. replaced cap and rotor and truck runs great again. I'll be looking at new plugs and wires in the near future also.
Just tried out my new BOSS POWER V PLOW lastnight. Looks great on the truck and works great. couple small issues with alignment and welding flaw found on blade wing but it looks like they are going to replace the left wing and adjust the bumper stop for better alignment. I'll post pictures soon.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!! See? Carefully diagnosing the issue leads to an efficient repair.
