Default Dodge Dash Color

I have a 97 ram with a camel interior, however the upper dash is dark brown. I am trying to find the color of the dash so I can paint my new one to match. Does anyonw know what the color is called or the code? I cannot not find it in the dodge interior color paints. When searching I only find mist grey and camel.

I have the number at home as I just repainted mine. Have you selected a brand of paint yet? I used Wanda and can also get the mix info to you if you would like.

thanks. I actually ran across yours earlier while I was searching. It looks good but my brown is much darker. I see yours is a 98 or newer so 97 may have been the last year of them. I thought they only came with the leather interior but I saw one in a junkyard that was cloth. The complete dash is 2-tone and the bottom half looks about like the color you have there, which is what the trim code gives.

Then the upper part is really dark. Almost black.

I found one like it here

I have never seen that interior trim in multiple colors. Looks pretty good, though.

You should be able to take a piece of your broken one in to an automotive paint store and they should have color chips to be able to match. You can then decide to shift slightly to compensate for any discoloration damage casued by sun. The trim code may or may not help get them to the right range of colors.

If it is in fact the OEM dash color, maybe getting one of these will help.

Thanks. I tried this route today, my question

Brief Description:
Would like to know the name of the color and color code for my upper
dash.
Comments:
My 97 has a camel leather interior, however the upper dash is dark
brown.
The dealership only sells the upper dash in black. I need to know the
color
so I can match the original or have a part number to the correctly
matched
upper dash. Thanks.

So I assume dodge doesn't know what color dash they put in there own truck. Kind of funny. But I did have a recall # 737 which was for a dash pad and heat shield, so maybe they will replace it???

Trim code is kind of generic I have found. I would print out the take the recall and take to dealer and see what they say. I'd be interested to ehar!

Yeah that is what I found too. That is why looking at mine offers no help. But I think dodge only offered about 3 choices of interiors in the ram so I thought it wouldn't be that difficult.

I looked up the recall and it seems that it refers to heat shield in relation to the outer dash silencer pad. Seems they will put a thermal heat shield on the exhaust.

take the piece you want to match to automotive paint store. Then you can see that color and maybe a variation you may like even better. Shouldn't be more that $25 or $30 a quart mixed. Also LMC has aerosol paint for trim, but selectio is more limited.
