I was tried of the extra price of the Sat radio ($170.00 a year) and with no way to connect my Iphone 3gs but with this Belkin tune base...

For calls the Belkin was barely useful because of echoing and for music useless, sounded like s**t... So I was looking for a aftermarket head unit with bluetooth built in and be able to play music from my Iphone and stream Pandora... For the price of 1 year of Sirius radio ordered this...

This had everything I was looking for and a holder for my Iphone... After installing I did not like where the phone holder sat. I like it higher. I never use the in dash cupholder so used the empty space where the handle is, made a mounting point for the phone hloder...

So far I really like the radio, everything functions like it should and ordered a short 8-inch black data cable from ebay to steam music and charge my phone... I can also leave the phone in my pocket and auto connect with bluetooth for calls and steam music, but music does not sound as good or clear as plugging in...

Also with everything I needed for install supplied I can put the stock unit back in and remove phone mount easy to stock look if I sell the truck..

Nicely done there and thanks for sharing. People always like to find out about options. I'm not too keen on your console coloration, but hey, you're the one enjoying it and that's all that matters.

Interesting I never heard of that. Do you know if it was a dealer installed thing or what?

From what I read, The dealer sends a new truck to a conversion company where the kit is installed and receive a special serial number showing it is a original Richard Petty truck. It was only offered in 1996/97 only a 1000 or so where built..

I picked it up in 2007 with only 32,000 miles on it and it was in like new condition..

I was looking for a Sport edition like my Dad's black 97, but the few I could find were beat up pretty good and asking way to much..
