Just recently bought a product for cleaning the wife's headlights in her car and mine in my truck. It is called Restorem, even comes with a dvd to watch. $20 for the kit and it does two vehicles. Basically a two step thing with sanding in between with 2,000 grit wet sandpaper. Wife's were not as bad as mine, so hers are like brand new. We will see what it does an a tough lense...
That's kinda where I figured this was going. Although I wonder what taking the assembly off the truck and letting it soak in bleach or a cleaning chemical would do, if anything.....
You might not want to use bleach, it will dry out the plastic and may fog it worse. The electric buffers they sell help out alot no matter which way you use. rubbing compound works pretty good, or one of the kits they sell at the auto parts stores.

Alright. I'll try another brand cleaner, probably try the 3m stuff or something. Might just be time for new headlights.
Are you going to take them off the truck? If not, dont forget to tape off the surrounding areas. Those buffers can get away from you. dont ask me how I know. LOL
3M Perfect It 3000 compound and a buffer. Remove from truck and hold it securely somehow before hitting with buffer. Then use some 3M swirl Remover (can't remember product number..)
