Default Tonneau cover questions

I got a 97 dodge with a 5.2 under the hood and does anyone with a tonneu cover notice a difference in fuel economy with it on. If so what brand would you say to get?

The first thing I got for my truck was a tonnaue (however its spelled) cover for the versatility, and I like it alot. I'm not sure if it made a difference in mileage or not, I've driven with it down and rolled up and its not significant if there is a difference, but again thats not why I bought it. Mine is a truxedo brand, seems like good quality

My truck came with a tri fold tonnuea cover, it is sweet to have. Keeps bed dry everytime. Mpg are very minimum, I have the 5.2 myself and get 12-13 with it on. Not gonna save at the pump with it, IMO. If that's the only reason, spend the money somewhere else.

Ya I have the 5.2 also I think they are just slick I just wish that my tailgate had a lock on it so I could lock down a cover and then my tail gate but whatever are the roll on covers built just as good as the tri fold because I don't care to much for the tri fold. But they all make any truck look sleek as heck.

The tri folds are nice in that you can fold it up and then remove it all together, no rails attached to bed or anything. The snap ons, at least the ones I saw, have rails that you attach to bed and then snap on the cover. Forget about snapping them when it Is cold, the cover contracts and makes it a pia to attach again.

Ya I saw one in the internet that I thought was neat because it has ails on each side of the bed. And each rail had velcro on the rails so the cover rolled on real easy. And when it was unrolled there was a lever that tightened up the tarp.

That is not so bad... I just HATE those snap on covers and will NEVER buy another one, had one a long time ago on a work truck from an old employer.

Ya I had one of those covers as well and it took three of us to put it on. And snaps were constantly breaking.

Tonneau covers also called truck bed covers are ideal for trucks that carry cargo or items that need to be protected from the elements.
