Have you considered maxxis bighorns? Great tires, agressive look and performance, but don't wear too fast, plus they aren't rediculously expensive...

I have mud grapplers on my truck and I love them, they hum a little going down the road but I don't mind I just turn the radio up.
I actually just went mudding today and only used 4wd a couple times.
My friend has a 1/2 ton dodge with toyo open country 35" and I went everywhere he did and I only have 33"
And if you start to get stuck just hit the gas and the grapplers just sling clobs of mud everywhere!

Oh and I know what yall mean by dinosaur tracks, that's the whole reason why I bought them,
If you do get the nittos make sure whoever is mounting them that they put them all the same side out.
(1 side is smooth and the other sidewall has tread going down the side.)
I found this out after going home and noticing 1 tire looked different

Yep, Toyo owns Nitto. Originally it was to be a 2nd offering at a much lower price but Nitto has gotten such a strong following that the price keeps inching up. Still cheaper than a comparable Toyo, but the gap is closing.
Toyo MTs are among the better tires on the market that can handle heavy slop yet still offer really strong pavement performance and not wear out in no time. Mickey Thompson MTZs have a similar reputation but if anything cost even more.
Nitto Trail Grapplers are quickly gaining a strong following and should run 20% or so cheaper than the Toyo MTs.
Goodyear Duratracs have been a Jeep Wrangler staple tire for years, but I'm surprised you guys who are running them on full size 4x4s aren't blowing out sidewalls. Even the "E" range model has a really **** poor record of sidewall failures on vehicles over 5000 lbs. - I've known guys personally have had it happen and the interweb is full of stories & pics. It's a shame too because along with the Cepek FCIIs are one of the few tires with a good A/T - M/T hybrid tread...

My truck had hankook dynapro mt's on it. I love these tires the tires had about 70% tread and I've put about 35,000 miles on them would have got more miles out of them if I would have rotated them and got an alignment. They have preformed great in the mud,on gravel, dried up river beds snow and ice. Road noise isn't that bad. Never had a flat " good thing to as I just now got a spare the same size". These are the only MT tires I've ever owned and I will be putting them back on been rock solid tires for me here in central Missouri.
