So im entertaining the idea of selling both my rams to buy a ram 2500 or 3500. But i wanted some insider advice on what i should be selling my 2001 1500 for. Its got a 5.2L with a K&N 14x3, all new front end suspension, rear shocks, flowmaster duals, rebuilt trans, 170k miles, it is a laramie SLT quadcab. It has running boards, bed rails, bedliner, towing package, toolbox, new stereo with ipod dock, cruise control, heated and pwr mirrors. Its got a foot sized dent on the rear side of bed and a fender with a rash on it. ohh and its got new 1 peice headlights. only thing mechanically wrong is the tailgate doesnt like to open.

It's a 2wd. I see them here in Arkansas on Craigslist between 1500-4000 but I see them on car lost for up to 8k. I don't think I could part with it for less than 5k and I do have a friend interested in it for that price.

 

$5000 seems like it would help out on that down payment . The truck is only getting older with day after day, mile after mile. but I dont like dealing with money around friends

 

same here. i don't sell to family or friends. to much of an opportunity for relationships to go bad especially when you are talking about vehicles.

 

Or anything else. I used to get asked about rentiong a house to famiuly members and friends years ago....and there is only two things to come out of a deal like that. You don't get paid, and if you eveict them, you are the *******! better not to go that direction - there's no percentage in it for sure! A car deal is probably the same way. Anything that goes wrong with it 15,000 miles form now is YOUR fault!
