Don't jack with aim too much!

One of the biggest problems inherent with any search function is utilizing appropriate key words. The next biggest challenge is to get people to quit titling threads things like "Guess what I found?' or "New Problem." These clutter the database and are probably not the specific topics one would look for!

And using " " around key words can help as well......

It is something I see on every forum and I am not really upset or anything. Most of the time I can play with the words and read through. I did a search and got a long list. When I found someone describing my problem and the only thing useful was go look in the DIY. I also did not re-post the question because I have figured out to use the search function. Sometime I have parts all over the driveway with oil and grit in my eye and I need an answer fast. But I will add that I didn't do a search.

But really taking the time to post a link in the repetitive thread really does help both the person to see that searching works but also stops them from getting all upset. Then when someone else searches they find the info faster.

Now that does not mean you can't give the guy a hard time like some of you have done to me. But it does not bother me, I have thick skin.

I am not saying the search function does not work because for the most part I have found what I wanted and had people answer my dumb questions. But I think it is really funny when people say to use the search function and I found the the thread using the search function.

Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to.

LOL! But I bookmarked them instead, because my memory sucks.

Now , if I could just remember I bookmarked them, I'd be all set.
