We digress....however, I have found a 97 with 240k on the clock. 5.9L, 4X4, loaded. Has a new crate motor with 60k on it, but it is automatic. It has a lift and 33" tires. Guy is asking 3500. I'm going to look at it tomorrow.

Default grill guards

Looking at getting a grill guard for my ram 1500 and i found a few on Craigslist, i know that sport models are different but is there a difference between the 1500-2500-3500 as far as how the grill guard would mount?

^Shouldn't matter. I think the mounting holes are the same regardless.

I think i should just mention this because everyone seems to have filled you in on need to know stuff...so i want to mention the milage...

Mine currently has 228k..no major rebuilds...only stuff done to motor is timing chain/gears, intake with hughes plate, harmonic balancer and other small things like water pump, valve cover gaskets etc...also i always use mobil 1 full synthetic...with 228k my truck still fires up first crank, and oil psi never dips below 40psi....and my motor runs mint not the slightest hesitation or stumble in her and ive been rough with her...owned it since 187k and have done ALOT of offroading....

So basically you take care of motor she will take care of you...but they are needy and love to have money spent on them but damn they are reliable trucks....

200k isnt bad in my opinion...take care of it and you can see another 200k before major rebuilds....all depends on how you care for it

haha these trucks are like women! always wanting shiny new things...

never left me stranded, even though I grenaded the internals on my last 6-spd trans. still got me home...

wait it did leave me stranded once! I did a boosted launch and traffic was ahead so I had to back out of it mid launch and that pulled fuel hard enough to suck air, and since I let off the throttle too quick it stalled with air in the injector lines. was stuck till my old man brought me a wrench lol. I just needed 1 wrench to bring her back to life. crack the injector lines with it crank it till diesel comes out, tighten the lines, and she growled back to life I keep that wrench with me now just in case lol...but I also run less aggressive fueling tunes now.
