Default horse power

Ive got a 99 1500 sport with the 5.9 V8. Just wondering how much horsepower its got, or how to find out how much its got, and curious about ways to get more horsepower out of it. thanks

5.2l has around 170rwhp
5.9l has around 190rwhp

At the flywheel 5.2 gets 230hp and the 5.9 gets 245hp

likely if its got high mileage on it, its got less hp than stock rating...infact all engines have less hp at rear wheels than stock rating because manufacturers always rate HP at the flywheel. Like my truck for example...factory rated at 235hp...actual RWHP on the dyno when it was mostly stock: 216hp.

jeebus..hard to remember how gutless my truck used to be lol. it was so slow that any of your v8's could have passed it like it was parked!

Alvin was a chipmunk. He shot his hamster...which I believe is a complex metaphor for turbocharger.

yeah the old hamster wheel blew up, and its original replacement blew up like 6 months later... (defective build from a turbo shop I will never use again)

so now its got 2 larger hamster wheels in there! and lots more food to keep them running faster

Too much food is not good, I'd follow THESE recommendations closely if I were you.
