been looking around for some finished projects and cant find much, thinking 20 gauge sheet metal and the easiest most simplistic look to it. summit racings gauge setup and custom radio and ac vents, then just mount all the prexisting stuff up and redo the ac vent lines to the dash so id never have wild vents again but still have some sort of defrost vent setup like a butterfly valve and id be able to go through each and every wire to make sure its good while hooking everything up. a lot less rattle and then just paint it black when done. so anyone else done this in a 2nd gen?

Some of the truck & cars shows latly with 2nd Gen rams have seen a few with fiberglass molded dash with aluminum face over the stock plastic faceplate. When I asked about how labor intensive it was,all said to pull the dash so that you can get to all the duct work and rounded corners.Slick(sic) mods for sure......................

i have no clue, searched for a custom metal dash and bam pretty much how id like it to look. well see i was thinking of taking most of that out and rerunning a lot of it myself. i looked at it while fixing my windows today and i think id take the whole thing apart, try and compress a lot of it forward so theres not as much to deal with, run the new vent lines and then start with some cardboard to get a feel for what id want then get the sheetmetal and go to town. im thinking a few hundred bucks here if that. i dont do redneck work so it will come out looking very clean and functional as well. but then again the list for my truck goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on.
