Then this v8 powered EL Camino offroad racer was making passes testing out the rig. Just as I pulled up to watch him go by b/c the sound of that thing was just awesome....he threw his driveshaft. So his team partner was by me as and asked for a tow back to the trailer, followed by winching onto the trailer.

Engine is LS1 400+hp, self made intake manifold, Big booty King Coilovers and Bypasses, wishbone rear setup, and other assorted. I was truly taken aback that the body IS an El Camino.

Then I went to climb the Alamo obstacle

Finally, another Dodge to fit here is my buds flex monster

this looks like Prairie City in Rancho Cordova, CA..... am i correct?

Hmmm, I'll assume you just mean the coilovers, which ~$1200 for the pair.

It's not a "typical" long arm of the ram, which is typically 4 link + panhard. This is radius arms that are looooong + panhard.

Notice how his tow mirrors are folded in...
Wow Wombat. Gotta get a racin video! You can't outshift his auto? ... I know of some guys who can outshift a auto on 6spd manuals... They float every gear except 2nd, which they skip and go straight to third. How they manage to not clash their gears I have no idea... Except maybe practice? Or sheer luck?

@wh1t3: Haha. I read that and wasn't really sure why someone would say that... My truck as is would bury itself in a matter of seconds.

Those 6speeds are lightyears ahead of the 5 speed in this truck. It is noisy and not smooth and also has over 250k miles on it. I don't want to blow it up. Someday this truck will get an NV5600 or G56 though. Most guys who race manual diesels just boosted launch from 3rd, since 2nd is useless if trying to go anywhere in a hurry. They also usually have better clutches than me. I have a single disc clutch rated at 425hp and 850ft-lbs. I easily exceed that torque rating, even at the rear wheels. No need to go destroying stuff I can't afford to upgrade. I treat this truck nicely, because I want to keep it for a long time.

At least you know the limitations of what you can do with your current hardware, instead of just pedal to the metal and wait till something destroys itself.

With a Gem like that you have to know your limits to keep it purdy and working and not burn a hole in you pocket lol
