I spent my childhood in Southern California... where people don't even got off of the sofa for 4.5. Ya know something? They're all crazy, every last damned one of them. If you live in a place where nature regularly tries to kill you off, you're crazy.

Still, 4.5 is just a fat chick falling off of a bar stool. It rattles the windows but won't knock over anything except maybe your beer can pyramid.

y'all are getting excited about a 4.5? lol

brag about it when its a 6+ pointer.

4.5 wouldn't even wake me up from a nap

our last decent quake we had bricks falling off of buildings, racks falling over in grocery stores, and a few elevators had their counter weights come out of their tracks which released the elevator and the counterweights crashed into the top of the elevator.

for those that don't know, cable elevators don't drop in an emergency...if the motor ever breaks the elevator goes to the top floor...the counterweights outweigh the maximum weight capacity of the elevator.

as for how a 6.5 feels...ever been in a wave pool? felt all those waves bobbing you up and down as they come...you can actually see the shockwaves moving through the floor and feel them...feels almost like being in a boat on the waves only they are violent frequent waves. and there's the initial sound of the plate crash that sounds like a tree just fell on your garage...its loud...

washington ain't so bad with quakes...we have a big one every 10 years (6+ rated) otherwise maybe one or two a year in remote places that are under 4. nothing you can feel.

and why californians put up with bigger quakes? have you ever been to cali? seen the weather? seen the women?

no humidity! sunshine almost year round. its still summer there... and omg concentrated with beautiful women, and they go out in bikini tops and daisy dukes everywhere!

oh yeah...no hurricanes!!!

I grew up a mile from Knott's Berry Farm, spent my summer nights at the end of the street watching the Disneyland fireworks display. I met my wife there in 1978, in fact met all of my wives there. I also left when I was 18 because it sucks root there. The wife and I agree that there can't be a reason compelling enough to make us even pass through the basin again.

I didn't even go there last time -- I imported her to Colorado.

She was my high school sweetheart and was supposed to have been my only wife, but things went south in a big way thanks to a meddlesome mother (mine). This time around I got rid of the mother instead.
