Default Heater Core

Last week it was the fuel pump that went. This week the heater core. So I changed one of these years ago and I remember it being a PITA. I can smell antifreeze and my windows are fogging up. Almost imposdible to see now. It happened pretty fast. I decided to throw a stop leak product in there but doesn't look like its sealing.

Any really good threads or DIY links for doing this? I'm going to consider both options as I have a friend working in a shop. I'm going to get a quite from tomorrow and hopefully get some good news. At least then it's warrantied.

Thanks for any suggestions.

They are one of the less complicated dashes to pull. This guy has a good shot of his.

Yea, it looks simple in that video. I don't even have to pull the dash out that far but just enough to pull the hoses and take it out.

Is there a good thread out there anyone knows about? The less bolts and screws I have to take out the better.

Like previously stated it's not that bad. The five screws up top, the two big side bolts, and it should pretty much come free.

Thanks for the feed back. I have watched a few youtube videos and i'm thinking it isn't all that hard. Just time consuming. I'm going to start early tomorrow morning. The AC lines. Do I have to disconnect them? If so the system has to be discharged. Correct?

Disconnecting the lines is an easy way to discharge the system...

Sounds easy enough. Won't be as bad as swallowing a little gas 2 weeks ago while I was syphoning some out of the truck. Damn fuel pumps always go the day after you fill up.
