Seems to be happening a lot mostly when using internet explorer. Other admins are saying using firefox, chrome, etc with ad blockers does the job pretty good.

Popups, keywords popping up in blue, ads, something sliding up the screen, what are these things you all speak of?

Really? I'm using FF latest build and adblock plus. I think it has nothing to do with that. So what are you using?

Adblock plus 2.1.2
Firefox 16.0.1 and it's bugging me to update.
On the Firefox options I also have "block pop-up windows" selected under the content tab.

I guess that's all that's doing it. It works, I don't have any popups or ads.

If it bugs you enough then you can download an add-on called noscript. That program takes a little bit to get set right but it will block everything aside from a main page. What I mean by it takes a little bit is you'll have to right click on pictures or videos that are on the sites you visit to tell noscript that they're ok from that particular site but after you get that out of the way then you'll love it as far as how it blocks everything.

Try uninstalling FF then reinstalling and adding adblock plus in afterwards. Sometimes (rarely so far luckily) when ad software has managed to breach the combo reinstalling it all takes care of the problem.

I went back to 16.0.1 and the problem is gone. So don't go to 16.0.2 just yet.

That's good news. I was putting it off because I was doing other stuff every time I cut the computer on and didn't feel like updating.

Maybe the update doesn't work with the older version of ABP and the add-on needs to be updated to work with the newest version of Firefox.
