new PCM
If i buy a new PCM for my 2001 360c.i. will it have the death tune or will it be true factory?
Or has anyone with the death tune gone to the dealer or anywhere to get it re-flashed to assembly line factory?

it will have death.
several things to know:
dodge does not release any older versions of pcm software, so all obd2's have the timing reduced to reduce pinging caused by their crappy leaking plenums. 01 came from the factory with death.
elimination of death flash is available from SCT custom tunes, Superchips, and Hypertech.
SCT is the most advanced, customizable programming, but does not correct speedo for larger tires. also most expensive.
Superchips is the best compromise with improved timing, and proven speedo correction. They are also the most common, covering all dodge from 98-10'ish and are widely available used, however, be very careful that its not VIN locked, which makes them useless. typical used price is 175-250.
Hypertech is fair. the tuning is ok, but be careful that the speedo correction may or may not work. mine did not. they are also single year specific, so the used market is difficult.
I have a hypertech for 2001 that i'd sell cheap. the tune is ok, a cure for death flash, but the speedo correction did not work for me, so i unloaded it and replaced it with a superchips. pm me if interested.
